What is the grinding noise I hear when i turn my steering wheel?

Posted under Grinding

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2l and since i’ve had the car it has always had a Grinding noise while turning sharp turns. What could be the posible troubles? Also there is no play in the steering wheel.

Sounds like the road wheel is rubbing on something on sharp turns. You’d have to jack it up on the side where the noise is, put the steering on full lock and turn the road wheel by hand an observe where the noise is coming from. It may be the steering stop needs adjusting.

If I decided to choose welding or electrical what the advantages would come with the careers?

Posted under Welding

I’m trying to decide electrical as a career path or Welding. However, i’m having a hard time deciding which career path will bring out more money, and also that I would be able to enjoy.

Both areas are best however you examine your own desire where can you get more clues to get innovative ideas while carrying out the work . Both areas have highest avenues to get proper work with good pay packages but our gut feeling led us to opt for certain area where we find that we perform better in it compared to others and satisfy the person who hire us to his satisfaction

What is the grinding noise my car makes on sharp right turns?

Posted under Grinding

My 2004 WRX is making a Grinding noise when I take sharp right turns, even without breaks applied.

I realize that it’s hard to diagnose a problem by reading just this, but it sounds like "Rrr.. Rrr.. Rrrr" and sounds like a metal-on-metal rubbing. Maybe the rotor?
I forgot to mention that it’s coming from the back-right wheel.

sounds like the johnson bearings are giving out

What information is needed in order to get an estimate on plumbing cost?

Posted under Plumbing

I am looking to buy a property, mobile home on land.

All it needs is new plumbing work, it used to have it but no longer does after its been sitting

What all information do I need to call to get estimates on how much it will cost for plumbing? I cannot have somebody go out there since it is in the middle of no where and I do not own it yet…..

I checked everything else it only needs plumbing

The first respondent is absolutely correct. If you can contact a local plumber, tell him / the company what you need to have installed, as in how many fixtures, drains, etc. You may be able to get a ball park price on the plumbing installation.
Keep in mind however, that in order to install the plumbing (water supply) to all the fixtures, the walls and crawlspace will be torn apart all over the mobile home. The repair costs of these are rarely included in any plumbers’ bids.
If you want to have expensive repair costs, ALWAYS have your plumber do your sheetrock repair.
The other consideration is the crawlspace repairs. In order to get access to all the water piping in the floor, the vapor barrier and insulation must be cut and removed for access. The resultant mess is repairable, but usually it takes somebody who really knows their stuff to put a vapor/ rodent barrier back correctly so that it protects the system and the house from freezing.
I have seen more than a few cases that wasnt done, and I ended up chasing the frozen piping the full length of the house, repiping the whole house in the dead of winter.
The cost of doing the Plumbing work and repairs afterwards will probably cost nearly half the cost of moving another mobile home/manufactured house to the lot.
I hope the PROPERTY purchase is a good one, at a great price for you.
Good luck.

What’s the best shade number for welding glass attached to a webcam which is used to record images of the Sun?

Posted under Welding

Hi, I am trying to use a webcam (Logitech Quickcam Express) to take pictures of the Sun throughout the day for one of the projects I am working on. In order to protect the camera lens from being burnt by the direct sunlight, I think it might be a good idea to place a piece of welding glass in front of the camera. However, I need to determine the optimal shade number of the Welding glass for my particular application. Does anyone know what shade number(s) I should choose? Thanks.

Do not use welding glass. It does not protect camera lens at all.
Go to a store and buy appropriate filter even a bigger one and attach it to your camera.

What would cause my car to make a grinding noise when turning and braking?

Posted under Grinding

My 2002 CR-V has started making grinding noises when I turn, drive @ a slow speed, and brake. After I make a turn, sometimes the grinding persists even while driving straight. Also, it almost always sounds worse when I make a left turn. The Grinding is not too loud, it’s like a scraping sound. Any clues as to what this may be? Should I get it to a shop ASAP?

sounds like your brake pads need to be replaced

how do i unclog kitchen plumbing in a double wide manufactured home?

Posted under Plumbing

the "snake" goes about 12 feet and stops. the p trap is clear. i opened the plug where the pipe goes under the floor and put in the snake. i atttached a hose to the faucet and put water down to clear out debris dislodged by snake. i then put the sulfuric acid drin opener in but it has not disolved the clog. i repeated the flushing. it must be at and elbow to the rest of the house Plumbing. i tried getting to it thru the washer drain but no l uck.

get a pneumatic ram and use it to clear the drain (there is such a thing in the plumbing world you can get one at most rental stores)

What is the best way to sell Mig welding supplies to the automotive manufacturers in US?

Posted under Welding

We sell Mig contact tips, liners and nozzles to Robotic and Manual welding manufacturers. Our products are world class in quality and priced excellent. The customers are reluctant to change and the best contact is always difficult to find. Our web site is very technicial and offers feedback options for both Manufacturers and suppliers but finding the motivated staff is hard. Is there a listing of industrial sales reps or manufacturer contacts specific to Welding?

you may want to do a search on that (google). That may give u the help u need. Good luck!
